5 teenage girls have been killed after a fire broke out while they were in an “escape room” in northern Poland.

The girls, all 15-years-old, were doing an escape room, in which the participants attempted to figure out how to escape a locked room using various clues around the room. The victims were likely celebrating one of their birthdays at the time.

A 25-year-old man was also treated for burns. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and why there were not precautions taken to allow people out of the room in case of fire.
