Florida Man Tries to Avoid Vehicle Search by Locking Keys Inside Car

A Florida man reportedly attempted to conceal various drugs that were inside his car during a traffic stop by locking his keys inside the vehicle.

Charles Albert Garcia, 40, was hiding small amounts of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, amphetamine pills and marijuana inside the Lexus. He was pulled over after speeding, going 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. Garcia was also reportedly driving with a suspended license.

According to the police report, Garcia’s license had actually been suspended since 2012, and had been arrested multiple times since. When the officer told him that he would search the vehicle, Garcia threw his keys in and locked the door, forcing the officer to call a tow company to come and open the door, allowing the search to continue.
