BREAKING: ‘The Thing’ and ‘The Right Stuff’ Actor Dies

Tony Award-nominated actor Donald Moffat died Thursday due to complications from a stroke, his daughter said. He was 87.

Moffat’s daughter, Lynn, reported that her father died in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. Moffat was nominated for two Tony Awards for “Right You Are [If You Think You Are]” and “The Wild Duck.” He appeared on television in “One Life to Live,” “Logan’s Run” and “The New Land.” His best-known movie roles include the 1982 horror film “The Thing” and “The Right Stuff.”
