UPDATE: The Pentagon says that the active shooter incident was a drill.
There are reports of a possible active shooter situation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Multiple agencies are reportedly responding. Initial reports were that shots were fired in building 19 in the basement, but that area has been cleared. Police are working to clear the rest of the area. No indication of a shooter has been found at this time. The medical center is on lockdown.
Representative Dutch Ruppersberger said that he currently in a room with others at the medical center.
I am currently at Walter Reed Medical in Bethesda where we've been told there is an active shooter. I am currently safe in a conference room w/ approx 40 others.
