BREAKING: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau Detective Arrested on Suspicion of Rape

A detective in the L.A. County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Detective Neil Kimball, 45, is being held on $2 million bail after being arrested, but no charges have been filed at this time. The incident reportedly occurred during his assignment with the Special Victims Bureau, but it is unclear if it involved someone within a case being handled.

As a detective with the Special Victims Bureau, Kimball investigated crimes related to abuse and sexual assault including crimes against minors. He is currently relieved of duty with pay.
