The Cleveland Browns reportedly want to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for the team’s head coaching job. The team’s general manager, John Dorsey, said that he is open to hiring a woman for the post, and a source told ESPN that the team is interested in talking to Rice.
The league has never had a woman interview for a head-coaching job, according to ESPN, though a number of women have been recently hired to top decision-making roles. “She’s an amazing person,” a team source told ESPN of the former Bush administration official.
Rice has been a longtime fan of the Browns, attending several games and wearing team jerseys in a number of NFL ads.
