Woman Mistaken for Deer Killed by Hunter

A 72-year-old woman was accidentally shot and killed by a hunter Sunday in Northwest Arkansas.

The Johnson County Sheriff said the woman was accidentally shot by a hunter who thought he was shooting at a deer. Officials said the woman was with her sister. The hunter has not been arrested, pending the outcome of the investigation. Arkansas Game and Fish said it’s not certain if the woman was also hunting.
