Death Toll Continues to Rise in Camp Fire

The Camp Fire, burning in northern California, has now burned at least 138,000 acres and is only 35 percent contained, officials announced at a news conference on Wednesday evening.

The death toll in that fire has risen to 56, as eight more bodies were found on Wednesday.

Including the fires in southern California, there have now been 59 deaths in wildfires in the state over the past couple of weeks.

The Camp Fire is the most deadly and destructive wildfire in California history.
