World Series Trophy Damaged During Victory Parade

The Commissioner’s trophy, the award given annually to the winner of the World Series, was reportedly damaged during the Boston Red Sox victory parade after a fan threw a beer that struck the trophy.

Several flags were bent out of shape, but a repair team was reportedly on hand and were able to fix the trophy.

President Trump Says More Troop May Head to the Border

President Trump, before leaving the White House for Florida, says that the number of troops sent to the U.S-Mexico border may go up.

Speaking to reporters, he says that the number could go up to 10,000 or 15,000 alongside the already stationed Border Patrol agents. (Bloomberg)

Bannon Under Investigation

The Senate Intelligence Committee is reportedly conducting a wide-spread investigation into Steve Bannon for his activities during the 2016 Presidential Election.

The committee is looking into what Bannon may know about contacts during the election between Russian officials and two campaign advisors: George Papadopoulos and Carter Page. They will also look at his role with Cambridge Analytica – Reuters

Lawsuit Against Harvey Weinstein Expanded

The lawsuit against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been expanded to include the allegations that he sexually harassed a 16-year-old girl.

Maryland Football Head Coach Fired

Maryland Head Football Coach DJ Durkin has been fired following the death of one of his players.

This comes shortly after university officials stated that Durkin should be retained. Durkin has been in hot water after the death of player Jordan McNair. McNair suffered a heat stroke during practice on May 29th and died 15 days later. A recently released report showed that the culture of the football program was at least partially responsible for the death. (source)
