An Italian anti-extortion activist has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of extortion.
The head of the Sicilian Anti-extortion Association, Salvatore C., has been arrested by Italy’s financial police for allegedly embezzling funds and threatening his clients for additional money. The suspect had made a career of helping those that had been victimized by extortion and loan-sharking scams.
The man reportedly also threatened his clients, pressuring them into giving him more money for his services. Salvatore C. would allegedly demand 3-5% of all likely compensation, or else he would drop their case.
