BREAKING: Navy Veteran Arrested for Sending Letters That Initially Tested Positive for Ricin

William Clyde Allan III, a Navy veteran, has been arrested in Logan, Utah, on charges of mailing threatening letters to the Pentagon and White House.

Although the letters initially tested positive for the poison ricin, “subsequent tests determined the mailings contained a castor bean substance, an ingredient used to manufacture ricin.

Allen spent four years in the Navy, leaving in 2002.
