North Carolina Woman Rescued From Flooding After Tweeting for Help

A New Bern, North Carolina woman took to Twitter as the water rose in her house. “I sent the tweet, I didn’t expect it to go viral,” Breeanna Perry said. Perry sent a tweet in the middle of the night that likely saved her life, along with her mom and grandmother.

The family stayed in the attic for hours, until the Cajun Navy showed up.

Perry responded to people who were critical of her decision not to evacuate.
