Brad Beaver, a man from Folsom, California, has been arrested at Sacramento International Airport on charges that he impersonated a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy, according to local media.
Police were first called after a vehicle was parked in a loading zone. Officials thought the car may have belonged to law enforcement as it had working forward-facing lights.
When the man was discovered, he was wearing a full sheriff’s department uniform and a Glock semi-automatic handgun.
He had claimed he worked at the jail but didn’t seem familiar with department policies.
“An investigation revealed that Beaver was never employed by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, nor has he worked as a peace officer anywhere else in California. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of illegal possession of weapons and impersonating a peace officer. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail.”
