BREAKING: Michigan Officials Confirm Dog Flu Outbreak

Officials in Michigan are warning of an outbreak of dog flu in the state. A total of 49 cases have been confirmed since mid-July.

They have occurred in Kent, Macomb, Oakland, Ottawa and Wayne counties.

The total number of confirmed cases in all of 2017 statewide was only nine.

“Canine influenza is a highly contagious respiratory infection in dogs, caused by a virus. Signs can include fever, lethargy, coughing and discharges from the nose and eyes.”
