Dozens of Peacocks and Peahens Found Dead on Beach

At least 43 peafowl were found dead in Madurai, India, after an apparent poisoning.

According to the veterinarian who conducted the post mortem, the birds had poisoned seed in their digestive tracts. Authorities say that they are conducting further investigations into who may have poisoned the birds.

The Peacock is the national bird of India, and is subject to a fine, as well as up to 7 years in prison.
