BREAKING: Ongoing Protests in Portland, Oregon

5:07 p.m. ET: Police have responded to the protests, and are using flash bangs to disperse the crowd.


5:13 p.m. ET: A sound truck has responded to the protest after police say that protestors began throwing objects at police.


5:16 p.m. ET: Reuters reports that the two groups involved are right wing and anti-fascist groups. Police were trying to keep the two sides apart as projectiles began being thrown. (source)


5:20 p.m. ET: Protests are moving away from the park area, police reportedly trying to drive crowds out of downtown.


5:28 p.m. ET: Oregonian reporter Eder Campuzano was reportedly struck by an object while covering the protests and had to leave to seek medical attention. Interactions in the protests appear to be heating up.


5:32 p.m. ET: Oregon State Police troopers have been called in to aid with the response to demonstrators. (source)


5:46 p.m. ET: Protests have returned to the beginning of their root. Police are still separating the two groups from interacting, but it appears to have calmed down slightly.


6:04 p.m. ET: Woman gets pushed down and apprehended by police during clash with protestors


6:13 p.m. ET: Protestors reportedly using a slingshot to damage property.


6:19 p.m. ET: Police say they are continuing to confiscate objects that can be used as weapons.
