BREAKING: Several Shot in New Orleans

At least 10 people have reportedly been shot in the 3400 block of South Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans, according to media reports.

“Police say three people have died and seven other people have been transported to local hospitals with gunshot wounds.” (source)

(10:52 p.m. ET) There is potentially a second scene, according to Police have surrounded a second home and crime scene tape is up. Police have not said what is happening at that location or if it is connected.

(10:59 p.m. ET) 

(11:04 p.m. ET) Bodies were seen in front of multiple businesses on the street, including Chicken & Watermelon, and a cellphone store, according to a local media report

 1:25 a.m. ET – Police are pleading for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for tonight’s incident. They are also pleading that residents do not take justice “into their own hands.” 

5:46 p.m. ET 7/30 – The shooting may have been gang-related, according to police. According to Chief Michal Harrison, the reward for information leading to an arrest has been raised to $25,000. 

“There were so many people out there who were standing right there that we believe someone saw something, someone heard something and someone knows something.” (source)
