A man was arrested Saturday in Japan after shooting compressed air into a co-worker’s rectum, killing him.
Yoshiyuki Yoshida, 34, was arrested for accidentally killing 46-year-old Akio Ishimaru. According to police, Yoshida and the victim both worked at a manufacturing plant in Ibaraki Tsukuba City. On July 13, Yoshida jokingly took an air compressor and poked Ishimaru between the buttocks with it, sending a blast of air into the victim’s body.
A few minutes later, Ishimaru began to complain of not feeling well. He was transported to the hospital but did not survive. Yoshida has confessed and faces charges of assault resulting in death.
According to a spokesman at the Ryugasaki Police Department, “The air compressor was pushed up against the anus, over clothing, not directly into the cavity, and the release of the air into the body probably damaged the lungs, causing death. We are waiting for the results of an autopsy, which is still being scheduled.”
