A Los Angeles actress and actor were the victims of a kidnapping plot last year that involved black hoods placed over their heads and a violent hostage situation, authorities said Tuesday.
Prosecutors announced an indictment in the kidnapping of Daisy McCrackin and Joseph Capone from the actress’ Los Angeles home back in early May 2017. Defendants Keith Andre Stewart and Johntae Jones overpowered them as part of a ransom scheme. Once there, the assailants beat, punched and kicked Capone, stripped him naked and held him without food in a bathtub for 30 hours.
According to authorities, Jones and a third defendant Amber Neal took possession of McCrackin’s 2011 red Lexus and drove her to multiple Bank of America locations with the demand she pay them at least $10,000 for Capone’s release.
Later on May 4, the defendants took McCrackin back to her South Los Angeles home, where she was able to escape and call for help, officials said. McCrackin has been in several films including “Halloween: Resurrection,” “3000 Miles to Graceland” and “She Rises.”
