A 48-year-old Portland, Oregan, man is accused in a federal indictment of offering thousands of dollars to an immigration officer to deport his estranged wife and daughter.

Antonio Oswaldo Burgos tried to bribe the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officer three times, according to the indictment.

He pleaded not guilty Friday to three counts of bribing a public official and was released pending a trial scheduled in August in U.S. District Court in Portland.
