Ted Dabney, co-founder of the video game company Atari and a co-creator of the trailblazing game “Pong” has died at the age of 81.
Dabney was battling with esophageal cancer. He was a pioneer in bringing arcade video games into the world after starting Atari in California in the 1970s. Dabney also served in the Marines from 1955-1959.
Dabney eventually sold his portion of Atari and eventually helped create the popular “Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theater.” He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
