A veterinarian in Allentown, Pennsylvania, created what might very well be the first set of fish braces. The fish, Mr. Hot Wing, was born without a lower jaw bone and his mouth couldn’t stay open, which made it hard to eat and breathe.
His doctor, Brian Palmeiro, did a lot of research and came up with custom braces that he crafted from a plastic credit card. The whole surgery cost about $150 dollars.
