A preliminary 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Michigan shortly after 8 p.m. ET on Thursday evening, according to seismologists. The earthquake was centered near the border of Canada and Michigan, and was located just south of Amherstburg, Canada. It was also just 25 km from Detroit.

Reports from the area on social media indicate it was felt widely.
