Crystal Gail Amerson, 29, was experiencing bad cramps and stomach pains late into the night Sunday evening in Pensacola, Florida, believing it to be due to Chinese food she ate the night before.

However, Amerson was surprised to learn she was actually on the verge of giving birth to her second son, as she was actually 37-weeks pregnant. As the pain worsened, she told her husband to call for an ambulance. On the trip to the hospital, Oliver James was born in the back of the ambulance.

According to Dr. Julie DeCesare, an obstetrician-gynecologist with Sacred Heart Hospital, it is possible for a woman to learn of a pregnancy hours before labor, but it is exceedingly rare.
