Police are responding to reports of a suspicious package in Northeast, D.C. Witnesses tell local tv station FOX 5 that the location is in the 3300 block of V Street and is at a government mail facility. The incident was reported around 7:39 a.m.
Officers have closed several streets in the area. Drivers can expect delays.
No injuries have been reported.
Police and FBI investigators have cleared the scene in Northeast D.C. where a government mail facility was evacuated due to a suspicious package being found inside. The incident was reported around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of V Street.
The investigation caused parts of several roads in the area to be blocked. Workers withdrew from the facility for several hours until the all-clear signal was given around 10:30 a.m. Package beleived to be linked to man already in custody for planting suspicous packages around DC.
