Linda Brown, the little girl that was at the center of the Brown v. Board of Education case, has died at the age of 76 in Topeka, Kansas.

Her sister, who is chairman of the Brown Foundation, confirmed her death. She has declined to comment on the death. Brown v. Board of Education proved to be a landmark Supreme Court case that ruled that “separate but equal” in public schools were inherently unequal and subsequently unconstitutional.
