A Wisconsin man who tried to sell his 4-year-old daughter for sex was sentenced to 60 years in prison Friday, according to the Harris County District Attorneys Office in Houston, Texas.
Andrew Turley, 30, was convicted of trafficking of a child and compelling prostitution of someone under the age of 18.
He posted an advertisement on Craigslist in 2015 under the heading “Play with Daddie’s Little Girl.” In emails with undercover Houston Police Department officers, he wrote that he had a girl “younger than 10” to whom he would give “sleep meds” before the encounter, the district attorney’s office said.
Turley also told the undercover officer that he charged $1,000 for two hours with his daughter and wrote that the girl might be “too young for intercourse but everything else was OK,” the district attorneys office said. The officer arrived at a time Turley set during visitation with his daughter, who lived in a Houston-area apartment with her mother.
Upon the undercover officer’s arrival, Turley checked the cash, then escorted him to a bedroom where the girl was lying in bed and appeared to be ‘under the influence of an unknown substance,'” the statement said.
Turley received a 30-year sentence for each charge to be served consecutively. He will be eligible for parole after 45 years.
