Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mayor Ed Pawlowski will resign Friday following his conviction for corruption.
Pawlowski was found guilty on 47 of the 54 charges levied against him for corruption. The Democrat had served 12 years as mayor. Prosecutors say that he was the mastermind behind a scheme that rigged city contracts to raise funds for his reelection.
Charges included conspiracy, bribery, fraud, attempted extortion, and lying to the FBI. He faces up to 20 years in prison for every count.
