BREAKING: Nashville Mayor Pleads Guilty to Felony Theft

Nashville, Tennesee, Mayor Megan Barry pled guilty Thursday to felony theft of property over $10,000 related to her affair with former police bodyguard. She agreed to reimburse the city, and serve three years probation. The indictment comes days after a Nashville judge issued a search warrant at seeking possession of her cellphone.

Barry is expected to announce her resignation at a press conference Tuesday morning. The resignation comes amid multiple investigations into her affair with her bodyguard, police Sgt. Rob Forrest.

An affidavit filed with the warrant said nude photos taken from the phone of Forrest are evidence Barry engaged in the affair while he was on duty. Barry repeatedly has denied that their romantic interactions took place while Forrest was on the clock. Barry’s resignation comes after she admitted Jan. 31 to a nearly two-year affair with Forrest, who retired that same day. Barry is the subject of three investigations, including a criminal inquiry by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
