BREAKING: University of Arizona Board of Regents Sued for Gender Discrimination

The University of Arizona Board of Regents is being sued in a federal court by former Honors College Dean Emerita Patricia MacCorquodale and other female deans.

The women allege that the University of Arizona has had widespread gender pay gap discrepancies. The group are suing for $2 million, and was brought under the Equal Pay Act. They say that despite constant complaints and issues with the pay discrepancies, the Board of Regents did not try to fix the pay gaps.

The press release associated with the case went on to say that there is a serious issue regarding mistreatment of female deans at the college as well, saying, “Inappropriate and sexist comments directed toward female deans, increased scrutiny of their performance and generally excluding them from participation in leadership of the university.”
