At least 759 people have died from the flu in the United States since early October, according to the Center for Disease Control. Since mid-December, there have been around 100 people who have died of the flu in the country per week, according to the Independent.
CBS News is reporting that this is more than double the number of flu deaths in the same period last year.
CDC numbers only take into account those who die of the flu who are under the age of 65.
