11 people are dead after gunfire was exchanged on the outskirts of the Mexican city of Acapulco, according to state officials.
The fight was between residents of a small town and a local community police force. 8 of the fatalities were local residents. After Army soldiers and state authorities later moved into the town, 3 members of the community police were shot dead after resisting them. Another 30 of the local police were arrested.
