One Sheriff’s Deputy was killed and 4 more injured after a domestic disturbance call in the Highlands Ranch suburb of Denver, Colorado, Sunday morning.
Two civilians were also shot. The suspect was shot and believed to be dead. A shelter in place was issued in the area while the conflict was ongoing. It is not entirely clear how the incident unfolded and investigations are ongoing. (source) 2:08 p.m. ET December 31, 2017

The deputy killed has been identified as Zackari Parrish, 29. The officers were met with gunfire as soon as they arrived on the scene. The suspect was wielding a rifle of some sort.
Parrish joined the force seven months ago and is survived by his wife and two young children. “When I sat with her, I could see in her eyes that her life was over,” Sheriff Tony Spurlock said, referring to the deputy’s wife. (source) 2:42 p.m. ET December 31, 2017
