BREAKING: At Least 2 Shot in Anti-Government Demonstrations in Iran

At least two protesters have been shot by Iranian forces in the ongoing anti-government protests in western Iran, according to social media.

This is the third day of demonstrations in the country, which arose amid rising food and gasoline prices. Many of the protests in the city of Dorud center around Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. (source) 2:47 p.m. ET December 30, 2017

According to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, a group that has pushed for Kurdish independence in Iran, the Iranian government has begun to cut off internet and phone lines to parts of the country. The Russian messaging app Telegram has also shut down several news dissemination accounts, saying that they are inciting violence. These reports are not officially confirmed.
