A North Korean nuclear scientist has committed suicide after he was forced to return to the country from China.
Hyun Cheol Huh, which is what he was identified as, led a research at a physics center in Pyongyang. He had taken a vacation leave after experiencing anxiety while at the center. He then unexpectedly visited relatives near the border without letting anyone know, and when it became clear that authorities were looking for him, he vanished. He was eventually found with a group of defectors.
The man killed himself with a poison pill, and it is not clear as to how he managed to get the pill past security in multiple screenings. He died while in solitary confinement. (source) 4:27 p.m. ET December 28, 2017
