A top official at the Office of Congressional Ethics, who is in charge of probes into sexual misconduct, has been accused of physically assaulting women in a 2015 bar fight.
The office’s chief counsel and staff director, Omar Ashmawy, is being sued by a man that was involved in the incident. Three men were arrested for assaulting him after he became belligerent after several drinks. Ashmawy has denied all claims. (source) 3:23 p.m. ET December 14, 2017
