A mysterious loud boom was heard throughout Northern Alabama early Tuesday afternoon, leaving many wondering what the cause was. There were no reports of any explosions or earthquakes in the area at the time, but the event led many to social media after their houses shook from the noise. The National Weather Service has speculated that it might have been a sonic boom or a meteorite from an ongoing meteor shower, but nothing is confirmed. (source) 4:47 p.m. ET November 14, 2017
