#BREAKING: France to Consider Setting Age for Sexual Consent

AP reports that France may be looking to establish a national age for sexual consent, with the proposed age being 13. A bill is being prepared to be brought to the body and considered, potentially creating an age for consent for the first time in France. A jury last week found a 30 year-old man acquitted for rape of an 11 year-old girl in 2009. They determined that while there was a sexual relationship between the two, it did not constitute rape under the French Law. (source) 5:44 p.m. ET November 13, 2017
