DEVELOPING: Trump’s Asia Trip Continues

United States President Donald Trump has arrived in South Korea, according to the Associated Press. While in the country, Trump is scheduled to “have lunch with troops from the United States and the Republic of Korea and receive an operational briefing.” Trump will then meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-In in Seoul. It was previously reported that South Korean officials are on their highest alert level amid preparations for Trump’s arrival. (source) – 10:47 p.m. ET Monday, November 6, 2017

It is the first time Trump has been to South Korea as president. According to Reuters, “Landing at Osan Air Base outside the capital Seoul, Trump stepped down from Air Force One onto a red carpet as he began his 24-hour state visit with a ceremonial military honor guard arrayed on the airport tarmac.” (source) 10:56 p.m. ET Monday, November 6, 2017

Trump will be visiting five countries over 12 days on this Asia trip. “A spokesman for the Kremlin said that American and Russian officials were discussing a meeting between Mr. Trump and President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, which could occur on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Vietnam, before Mr. Trump flies to Manila.” (source) 11:06 p.m. ET Monday, November 6, 2017
