#BREAKING: Active Shooter Reported at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, TEXAS (ALBOENEWS) — A Texas Tech Police Officer was shot and killed on the campus of the University on Monday evening, according to local media.

The campus was placed on lockdown as SWAT teams searched the campus for the gunman, who was taken into custody a short time later.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Texas Tech student Hollis Daniels. Police had caught him with drugs before the shooting. “Once at the PD building, the student pulled a gun and shot the officer in the head, killing him. Then the student fled,” according to KCBD.

The lockdown has been lifted.
