DEVELOPING: U.S. DHS Announces Intention to Monitor Immigrants’ Social Media

WASHINGTON (ALBOENEWS) — The Department of Homeland Security announced that it has expanded its policy to now allow the monitoring of immigrant’s social media activity.

The policy would allow them to monitor the activity on the accounts, but also to see all of their search results. It is not immediately clear if this means they will also have access to the searches from websites such as Google, or if it is only a further expansion of the social media monitoring.
