#BREAKING: U.S. Government Informs States of Election Hacking

WASHINGTON, D.C. (ALBOENEWS) — The U.S. federal government has informed 21 states that hackers tried to access their election systems during the 2016 presidential election, according to the Associated Press.

According to the AP, “for many states, the Friday calls were the first official confirmation of whether their states were on the list — even though state election officials across the country have been calling for months for the federal government to share information about any hacks, as have members of Congress.”

The states that have confirmed they were told of the attempt to hack their systems include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
