NORTON, KANSAS (ALBOENEWS) — A riot has broken out at a jail in Kansas late Tuesday evening.
According to the Kansas State Employees Union, a huge riot broke out at the Norton Correctional Facility. The union says, “Buildings are burning and some inmates have gotten weapons.” State correctional officers have confirmed that there is a “situation” ongoing at the facility.
UPDATE:
According to KDOC, the Norton County Sheriff’s Office says that people have been asked to remain inside and to lock their vehicles and homes. (1:19 a.m. ET)
KDOC says that the facility is now under control. Two minor injuries reported. (1:47 a.m. ET)
