#BREAKING: The Village Voice to End Weekly Print and Move Fully Online

NEW YORK (ALBOENEWS) — In a statement Tuesday, The Village Voice announced that they will be ending their circulation in New York, and switching to a fully digital format.

In their statement, they cite the rise of online media as the major driving force for the decision to end a physical distribution of the newsweekly. Founded in 1955, the village Voice had been serving New York City with a weekly newsletter that covered local politics and issues as well as national stories.

Many notable writers and cartoonists have contributed to the paper, including E.E. Cummings and Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
